Christmas Spirit is Alive and Well
December 28, 2022

We recently celebrated the Christmas season. Christmas is a celebration of Christ’s birthday. We often associate the holiday with the spirit of giving, caring, sharing, gratefulness, and thankfulness. The mission that drives us here at Bikers for Veterans is not so far removed from the Christmas spirit. We love, honor, and care about our military and veterans. We are continually grateful and thankful for their service. We use this website as a fundraising platform for many veteran related programs and events. Much of our focus is is on bringing awareness to veterans needs such as disabilities, injuries, mental illness, PTSD, and suicide.

One of the groups we will be supporting is the “V-twin project” and “Operation In the Wind”. Their mission is to create Survivors not Statistics. They give away motorcycles to veterans as form of therapy to combat PTSD, depression, and suicide. Suicide is a huge issue with both active duty and military veterans. They do a group motorcycle ride each year on the 3rd Saturday of July. This is done in memorial of U.S. Army Sgt. Kevin Ross who sadly committed suicide. The event is called the silent ride and the group rides to Stonehenge monument located at the Oregon and Washington border. The event will include another motorcycle giveaway to a veteran. So far, the V-twin project has given away 5 motorcycles including one most recently at the Albany Veterans Day parade Nov. 11th. The goal this year is to give away another 6 or 7 motorcycles at the Silent Ride.

Joey Taylor is the CEO of the V-twin project and I have had the opportunity to meet him personally as well as attend the most recent giveaway at the Veterans Day parade. He has a drive and dedication for helping our veterans that is in line with our own values. I encourage you to visit their website and learn more about their mission. https://www.v-twinproject.com

We have a Facebook page that we use to grow our support base and I invite you to join. You don’t have to be a biker to join and show support for our veterans. It is: bikers for veterans . com

Our goal is to keep the Christmas spirit alive year round by giving back to our veterans and helping them with their needs and any issues they are facing. Suicide is obviously extreme but they have many needs and our goal is to reach out and help financially as much as possible. We host and participate in many veteran related events and programs throughout the year and we rely on this website as our main source of fundraising. We are an Amazon affiliate and run advertising on this page. Any time you click on an ad or click on the “amazing deals” link, you will be taken to the Amazon page. Anything that you search for and purchase will earn us advertising dollars. I encourage you to search American owned companies when ever possible. Thank you for your help and support and thank you to our veterans for your service.
